2019-20 Roaring Fork Youth Basketball League

A core program for Aspen Recreation, our youth basketball league offers a comprehensive and structured Winter Basketball Season, aiming to create an enjoyable and growth-inspired athletic experience around basketball. We offer 4 Boys Teams and 2 Girls Teams per age group (currently offering a 3rd/4th Grade League and a 5th/6th Grade League.

Teams practice twice per week, with games scheduled between 5:30 and 7:30 on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays. We utilize the local school facilities to accommodate each team, and we are grateful to the Aspen School District and Country Day School for their support with this program.

This program prioritizes a fundamental approach to basketball skill-building, emphasizing teamwork, cooperation, and FUN! Our program models the curriculum directed by the Aspen High School Basketball Programs, as well as the Jr. NBA Youth Basketball structure.

We follow the NBA Youth Basketball Recommended Rules & Regulations, and referees are coordinated to provide a consistent and educational experience in games throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. Games are scheduled against Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs Recreation Programs, and games will be played across all four towns.

Maximum of 10 players per team. Players are not allowed to play with a younger age group, any request to play a kid up with the older league will need to be requested to Alex.

Volunteer coaches are required to make this league possible. Please contact Alex @ 970-429-2077 if you are interested in getting involved.

Players will be provided jerseys and coaches are provided basketballs and practice equipment. Participants are expected to bring athletic attire and non-marking basketball shoes to participate in practices and games.
